Units of a rate
Which could be the unit of a rate of reaction? [1]
- mol dm−3
- mol dm−3 s
- mol dm−3 min−1
- dm3 mol−1 s−1
Show the answer and the reasoning
Answer: C. C is correct. Rate is a change in concentration per unit time: concentration unit divided by a time unit. A is a concentration with no time. B multiplies by time instead of dividing; 53 % of candidates chose this form in May 2025. D is a unit of a rate constant (second order), not of a rate.
